Fel Iron Ore requires mining skill level of 275 to mine.  It’s the first ore you’ll run across when you journey through The Burning Crusade expansion. If you are looking to make gold with your mining skill take a look at this Gold Guide.

The two zones I choose, which are probably the only two ones you can really get it from efficiently, are: Hellfire Peninsula and Zangarmarsh.

Fly the outside mountain ridges on this path and when you get bored either turn around or fly right down the center of the map because there’s ore everywhere.  This zone is loaded with so many Fel Iron Deposits it’s ridiculous. (continue reading…)

Mithril Ore is another ore that you can mine and sell for a lot on the Auction House. I’ve seen it over 20 gold a stack on my server, you must be mining skill level 175 in order to mine this stuff. The two zones I’ve chosen are Tanaris and Badlands. I’ve had some really good success mining in Tanaris, although it takes awhile to run the full circuit, it is well worth it if there there aren’t many miners out in the zone that is.

Mithril Ore in Tanaris

The route for Tanaris is very simple, run the entire outside.  But where most people miss out is they don’t take the time to drop down into the hives.  I’ve marked the two hives with a V.  If you are running over the hives and you see some deposits that are underground, go ahead and get them, they will most likely be up because there aren’t a lot of people willing to take the time to drop down in there.  Plus, it cuts out some of the bore of running in circles all day. Iron Ore is a great Ore to mine because you can sell it in the Auction House for a lot of gold.  I’ve seen some people have some pretty good market dominance with Iron Ore on a few of the servers I’ve been on making it sell for as much as 30 gold a stack, more than Saronite typically does. For the Iron Ore routes I’ve choosen two, Desolace and Arathi Highlands.

There are 4 caves marked with V’s that you will want to really focus on while mining Iron in Arathi.  If you’re around the level of the mobs in the zone you could just grind in some of the caves, the one in the South eastern part of the zone is pretty big. (continue reading…)

Tin Ore is the next list you’ll be exposed to and may even be exposed to some Tin Veins while mining Copper. You must be mining skill level 65 in order to mine Tin. As I know it can be quite frustrating mining for gold at times I thought you may be interested in this Gold Course which shows you how to maximize your gold profits.

There are quite a few zones to get Tin so I’m going to focus on two of the best. You can call one for horde and one for alliance if you want, but what I really did is made one per continent in case you are unable to freely travel or don’t feel like it. The two zones I choose for mining Tin are Hillsbrad Foothills and The Barrens. The Barrens will be great for everyone who was mining copper in The Barrens you probably also mined Tin while there when your skill was high enough.

This map is incredibly similar to the copper route for The Barrens.  The main focus for this however, should be in the higher level mobbed areas, especially in the south where the mobs reach as high as level 25.  I’ve also cut out some of the other route that was used for Copper.
