Khorium Ore is the highest ore available in the burning crusade expansion. It is a random spawn ore and the place holder is adamantite. Wherever adamantite spawns, especially Rich Adamantite, a Khorium Vein can pop up in it’s place. It requires 375 skill to mine. There are two types of Adamantite Deposits you’ll find, Adamantite Deposit and Rich Adamantite Deposit. You will need to have your mining skill at 325 to mine regular Adamantite Deposit and 350 to mine Rich Adamantite Deposit.

The two zones I’ve chosen for Adamantite are Nagrand and Netherstorm.  Both of these are best done with flying mounts.

The main focus of this zone is the caves which I’ve marked with V’s on the map.  I would spend most of my time travelling between them and then taking the north route to start over again.  If you wanted to you could also fly the southern edge of the zone to get back to the start. Fel Iron Ore requires mining skill level of 275 to mine.  It’s the first ore you’ll run across when you journey through The Burning Crusade expansion. If you are looking to make gold with your mining skill take a look at this Gold Guide.

The two zones I choose, which are probably the only two ones you can really get it from efficiently, are: Hellfire Peninsula and Zangarmarsh.

Fly the outside mountain ridges on this path and when you get bored either turn around or fly right down the center of the map because there’s ore everywhere.  This zone is loaded with so many Fel Iron Deposits it’s ridiculous. (continue reading…)

Mithril Ore is another ore that you can mine and sell for a lot on the Auction House. I’ve seen it over 20 gold a stack on my server, you must be mining skill level 175 in order to mine this stuff. The two zones I’ve chosen are Tanaris and Badlands. I’ve had some really good success mining in Tanaris, although it takes awhile to run the full circuit, it is well worth it if there there aren’t many miners out in the zone that is.

Mithril Ore in Tanaris

The route for Tanaris is very simple, run the entire outside.  But where most people miss out is they don’t take the time to drop down into the hives.  I’ve marked the two hives with a V.  If you are running over the hives and you see some deposits that are underground, go ahead and get them, they will most likely be up because there aren’t a lot of people willing to take the time to drop down in there.  Plus, it cuts out some of the bore of running in circles all day. Iron Ore is a great Ore to mine because you can sell it in the Auction House for a lot of gold.  I’ve seen some people have some pretty good market dominance with Iron Ore on a few of the servers I’ve been on making it sell for as much as 30 gold a stack, more than Saronite typically does. There are 4 caves marked with V’s that you will want to really focus on while mining Iron in Arathi.  If you’re around the level of the mobs in the zone you could just grind in some of the caves, the one in the South eastern part of the zone is pretty big. (continue reading…)
