Updated for patch 4.3.

Titanium Ore is the high end mineral that is mined in Wrath of the Lich King.  It requires 450 skill to mine  and titanium can only be found in higher level zones. If you are trying to mine Titanium for gold you might be interested in learning better ways to make gold as in this Gold Course.

Titanium Ore comes from a Titanium Vein which are primarily located in Sholazar Basin, The Storm Peaks, Icecrown, and Wintergrasp.  Titanium Veins are random spawns and have a place holder.  The place holding ore for a Titanium Vein is a Saronite Deposit or Rich Saronite Deposit.  Almost every Saronite Deposit in these zones has a chance to spawn a Titanium Vein in that same location when the node respawns.  In the next section we will discuss the location of Titanium in these zones.

Titanium Ore Locations

I have created what I think are the best routes to follow in each zone to mine Titanium, but you will also find maps from the popular databases showing where they have recorded the Titanium Veins.  What I have done is merged my personal routes with this data to create the most optimal route.  After the  route was created, I have tested them for accuracy and below you have my results, starting with the best to worst zones to mine Titanium in.

Titanium Ore in Icecrown

Icecrown gets the #1 spot for mining Titanium due to the simplicity of the route and the lesser tendencies of lower level players to be flying around here mining.

While it is true that this zone is loaded with Titanium and Saronite, you must be careful where you land.  Sometimes you will find minining nodes guarded by elite creatures and it may not be worth your time to stop and mine them, although, I have been known to do what it takes to grab some Titanium Ore.

Titanium Ore in Sholazar Basin

The next best zone for mining Titanium Ore is Sholazar Basin.  Although it is heavily overcamped most of the time, there are just so many nodes in this zone that anyone can fly around in here and end up with a lot of ore.

The only problem you’ll have mining titanium in Sholazar Basin is other players.  It is PvP heavy zone and don’t think for a second another miner won’t kill you over some ore.

You will notice on the map some circles are drawn, that’s because around the outside of the Pilars in Sholazar Basin there is a lot of mining nodes that will spawn.  So if you look at the route I’m suggesting basically 2 circular patterns, one on the inside and one on the outside, you can rotate and reverse directions as you please.

Titanium Ore in Storm Peaks

Mining Titanium Ore in Storm Peaks is mostly about going into caves to get the Ore.  I’ll show you the path you can take but the majority of the Titanium is probably going to be inside a cave.

Now that you can fly through Wintergrasp it is a much easier place to mine than it once was.  Here are where the Titanium Nodes in Wintergrasp are located!

I enjoyed your summary. I would like, respectfully, to add to your Icecrown routes. The routes you\’ve listed do not cover the fringe areas of the map, just the two big lobes. When I mine, which is all the time (love the flying and the mini-game of mining itself) I loop around to all the outer areas, which covers the lobe areas twice. I first do the lobe, then circle around and do little orbits around the adjacent fringe areas that are displayed on the wowhead map. This is a VERY thorough path, and takes 28 minutes on average. I usually gather between 150 – 250 Saronite and between 10 – 25 Titanium on each run. Btw, the best times are right before schools get out, and right after schools starts. I wonder why…….:)
Best of luck and play nice!
